چکیده
NASA’s Endurance sounding rocket (yard No. 47.001) will launch from Ny Ålesund, Svalbard in May 2022 on a solid fueled Oriole III-A vehicle. Its \(\sim19\) minute flight carry it to an altitude of \(\sim780~\text{km}\) above Earth’s sunlit polar cap. objective is make the first measurement weak “ambipolar” electric field generated by ionosphere. This thought play critical role upwelling and escape ionospheric ions, thus potentially evolution atmosphere. The results enable us determine importance ion this previously unmeasured fundamental property our planet, which aid better understanding what makes Earth habitable. six science instruments (with 16 sensors) that measure total electrical potential drop below spacecraft, physical parameters required understand physics generates ambipolar field. mission be supported simultaneous observations solar geomagnetic activity.

JIMO Mission with Antiproton Powered Gas Core Fission Rocket
Recent theoretical and experimental studies have shown that “at rest” annihilation of antiprotons in U nuclei results in fission at nearly 100% efficiency. The resulting highly charged, very energetic fission fragments can be utilized to heat a suitable medium to very high temperatures. Such an ionized medium can be confined by a magnetic field during the heating process, and if subsequently ej...

ENDURANCE (Environmentally Non-Disturbing Under-ice Robotic Antarctic Explorer) is a highly maneuverable, hovering autonomous underwater science platform descended from the DEPTHX vehicle, both of which were developed under NASA ASTEP funding. ENDURANCE had the specifi c mission of descending through a 5 meter deep melt hole in the ice cap of West Lake Bonney, Taylor Valley, Antarctica and cond...
متن کاملTitle: ASSESSMENT OF THE ADVANTAGES AND FEASIBILITY OF A NUCLEAR ROCKET FOR A MANNED MARS MISSION
The feasibility of rebuilding and testing a nuclear thermal rocket (NTR) for the Mars mission has been investigated. Calculations indicate that an NTR would substantially reduce the earth-orbit assembled mass compared to L02/LH2 systems. The mass savings were 36% and 65% for the cases of total aerobraking and of total propulsive braking respectively. Consequently, the cost savings for a single ...
متن کاملMicroLaunch: The Electric Rocket
MicroLaunch is a potentially game changing development for access to space for nano and pico satellites (1 to 50kg) which today are being used in ever greater numbers by commercial providers (e.g. Skybox Imaging, Planet Labs), universities, domestic space agencies and military research organisations. These satellites are poorly served by today’s launch marcet, generally having to ‘piggy back’ a...
متن کاملThe gravitational wave rocket
Einstein’s equations admit solutions corresponding to photon rockets. In these a massive particle recoils because of the anisotropic emission of photons. In this paper we ask whether rocket motion can be powered only by the emission of gravitational waves. We use the double series approximation method and show that this is possible. A loss of mass and gain in momentum arise in the second approx...
